Over the past two months the Cochrane Common Mental Disorders team has enjoyed working with two students who have been blogging with Students 4 Best Evidence. Students 4 Best Evidence (S4BE) is a growing network of students from around the world, from school age to university, who are interested in learning more about evidence-based health care.
Emily Sanger, studying medicine at the Hull York Medical School, is interested in global and child and adolescent mental health. Emily blogged about the impact of humanitarian crises on mental health. The blog provided a summary of our 2018 Cochrane Review on 'Psychological therapies for the treatment of mental disorders in low- and middle-income countries affected by humanitarian crises' produced by the team at Cochrane Global Mental Health. Sophia Fedorowicz's interest in mental health led her to blog about the use of psychological therapies for treatment-resistant depression in adults. The blog features our review 'Psychological therapies for treatment‐resistant depression in adults' published earlier this year by a team from the University of Bristol. Sophia is currently completing an MSc in Applied Research at Staffordshire University and is also interested in the social determinants of mental health, peer support and self-management.
