The CCDAN Group assists in the production and maintenance of systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and controlled clinical trials (CCTs) that assess the effects (including harm) of treatments in the prevention and management of a range of mental disorders. The full list of conditions is included as a PDF at the bottom of this page, but in summary these include:
Major conditions of interest
Interventions commonly reviewed
Impulse control disorders
Neurosurgery and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
Chronic fatigue syndrome
The group also assists with diagnostic test accuracy (DTA) reviews. These assess the effectiveness of diagnostic tools in diagnosing, screening, selecting treatment and monitoring health.
The scope of the group is wide, but excludes those aspects of mental health care covered by the following Cochrane groups:
- Dementia and Cognitive Improvement;
- Drugs and Alcohol; and
- Developmental, Psychosocial and Learning Problems.
For reviews that fall within the scope of more than one group, editorial responsibility is shared between the review groups according to the Cochrane Collaboration Guidelines for managing reviews with overlapping scope.
