The Common Mental Disorders Group also hosts a Suicide and Self Harm Satellite based in Wales, and works closely with Cochrane Global Mental Health in Italy.
Cochrane Global Mental Health
Cochrane Global Mental Health (CGMH) is located in the city of Verona in Italy. CGMH is affiliated with the University of Verona, and within that, the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health and Service Evaluation, Section of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology.
CGMH is a new partnership that brings together the five Cochrane Review groups that cover the area of mental health: Cochrane Common Mental Disorders Group, Cochrane Dementia and Cognitive Improvement Group, Cochrane Developmental, Psychosocial and Learning Problems Group, Cochrane Drugs and Alcohol Group, and Cochrane Schizophrenia Group.
Suicide and Self Harm Satellite
In 2014 CCMD set up a Suicide and Self-Harm satellite group, based at the College of Medicine at Swansea University. Led by Professors Ann John and Keith Lloyd, the satellite facilitates the synthesis, production, and dissemination of high-quality evidence on the effects of interventions and preventive strategies for suicide and self harm. Core activities of the Suicide and Self-Harm satellite include:
- Undertaking prioritisation exercises to identify high-priority reviews in suicide and self harm prevention and interventions.
- Production and dissemination of high-priority reviews relevant to the field; and translation of this knowledge into policy.
